Overview
- A GESOP survey conducted 16–22 July projects Aliança Catalana at about 16.8% of the vote and 25–28 seats, making it the second force in Catalonia in the poll’s projection.
- The same poll estimates the PSC would remain the largest party with roughly 25% and 34–37 seats, a fall from its 42 seats after the 2024 election.
- GESOP and the CEO barometer both put the combined vote for Aliança and Vox near 25–26%, which would give those parties roughly 41 seats and substantially increase parliamentary fragmentation.
- Voters in the GESOP survey say the far‑right rise is driven mainly by distrust of traditional parties (82%) and concerns about public insecurity (81.3%), with social media, immigration, and cost of living also cited.
- The poll shows unusually high voter fidelity to Aliança and broad transfers from Junts, PSC, Vox, ERC and others, a shift that analysts say complicates coalition math and could affect national politics if Aliança abandons its stated regional-only stance that is not yet codified in law.
