Overview
- Eala has entered the Emilia-Romagna Open in Parma, a WTA 125 event running May 11–16, where she is slated to be the No. 4 seed.
- The Parma entry is a contingency for Rome because the events overlap, and she plans to play Parma only if she is not into the second week at the Italian Open.
- She is also on the list for the Catalonia Open 125 in La Bisbal d’Empordà and will compete there only if she goes out early at the Madrid Open.
- At about No. 44, she is guaranteed Roland Garros entry and has a chance to push toward a first Grand Slam seeding with roughly 12 spots to gain and few points to defend before Paris.
- Eala has also stressed the longer view at home, calling January’s Philippines Women’s Open in Manila a key stepping stone that lets young players see the pro level up close and start to dream.
