- Aldi’s sales rose 3% year on year to £1.65 billion in the four weeks to Christmas Eve, with a record 57 million transactions.
- Sales climbed by more than 5% in the final pre-Christmas week, taking about £500 million, and 22 December was the busiest day.
- Customers traded up into the Specially Selected range, which posted growth of more than 12% during the period.
- Festive volumes included over 5.5 million bottles of sparkling wine, 56 million potatoes, 37 million carrots and around half a million turkeys.
