Aldi Publishes Summer Shopping Times and Launches Voucher Support for Families

Using its in-store data, the retailer aims to ease holiday crowds and cut household costs by steering shoppers to quieter hours and running short-term voucher schemes.

Overview

  • Aldi issued the shopping-time guidance on Tuesday that says the calmest windows during the school summer holidays are generally before 10am and after 8pm on weekdays with some quieter Saturday evenings.
  • The guidance is based on in-store data and is meant to help shoppers avoid peak periods and spend less time queuing in store.
  • Aldi reminded customers about ongoing money-saving tools such as its fortnightly Super 6 produce deals, red-sticker reductions on near‑date items, weekly fresh offers and a Fresh Guarantee on fruit and veg.
  • Two short-term support promotions run through July and August: a Summer Support Scheme with one £50 family voucher drawn each day and the Mamia New Parent Fund that offers a £100 voucher draw each week for parents who submit a Mamia nappy receipt.
  • The summer moves update larger actions from earlier this year, including more than £200 million of price cuts and an April pay rise for store assistants, and sit alongside Aldi’s continued UK expansion plans and new distribution capacity.
