Aldi Publishes 124-Location Wishlist and Asks Shoppers to Nominate Sites

Public nominations will guide which sites Aldi's property team reviews to help shape its expansion plans.

Overview

  • Aldi released the consolidated list of 124 target towns and neighbourhoods on Monday and invited customers to suggest additional sites by emailing NextNewStore@aldi.co.uk.
  • Shoppers have until 18 June 2026 to submit nominations and the most popular proposals will be examined by Aldi's national property team.
  • The campaign forms part of a drive backed by more than £370 million of investment this year as Aldi pursues a long-term target of 1,500 stores across the UK.
  • Aldi says public nominations will inform which locations move into a formal property review and that it will announce findings and a new set of priority sites later in 2026.
  • Last year’s similar public call helped surface leads that progressed toward new branches in places such as Pendle Drive in Liverpool and parts of London, but any new store still requires site acquisition, local planning approval and construction before opening.
