Alcúdia Reserves 2,000 Parking Spaces for Residents, Tightens Old-Town Access

The crackdown aims to free up scarce spaces for locals during the high season.

Overview

  • Alcúdia has activated new resident-only green zones covering about 2,000 on-street spaces near the Porta de Sant Sebastià and the Auditori.
  • Parking in these zones without authorization carries a €200 fine, while registered residents receive a free Greencard valid for 2026 and 2027.
  • The historic center now limits entry to registered residents, timed deliveries, and vehicles with special permits, with ANPR cameras enforcing a €200 penalty for unauthorized access.
  • Visitors are directed to public garages, edge-of-center lots, and park-and-ride sites, with green curbs and multilingual signs used to flag resident spaces that many rental-car drivers miss.
  • Officials plan a phased expansion of the resident zones, including toward Port d’Alcúdia, and will assess the impact during the summer.
