Albi Judges Charge 14 in Cross-Border Drug Probe After Five-Department Raids

The case traces a supply line from Spain into southwest France.

Overview

  • Fourteen suspects were formally charged Friday in Albi after Monday’s coordinated raids across Tarn, Tarn-et-Garonne, Corrèze, Charente-Maritime and Deux-Sèvres.
  • Investigators from the Gaillac and Toulouse research units led a months-long inquiry that began in 2025 and drew in 170 gendarmes for the takedown.
  • Searches recovered about 13.5 kilograms of cannabis, 230 grams of cocaine, €30,000 in cash, €15,000 in bank funds, around 10 vehicles and four firearms.
  • The group faces charges for acquiring, possessing, transporting and importing narcotics and for money laundering, with some also accused of firearms offenses; five are in pretrial detention and four are under judicial supervision as prosecutors seek more detentions.
  • Prosecutors say the network sourced drugs from Spain after several documented trips across the border, and they are still probing those supplier links.
