Ajinomoto Expands Frozen Food Recall to Nearly 37 Million Pounds Over Possible Glass

FSIS says complaints of glass led to a high-risk classification after Ajinomoto traced the issue to carrots.

Overview

  • The expansion covers 16 RTE and NRTE items produced Oct. 21, 2024 through Feb. 26, 2026 under Ajinomoto, Trader Joe’s, Kroger, Ling Ling and Tai Pei labels.
  • Products bear establishment numbers P-18356, P-18356B or P-47971 and list best-by dates from Feb. 28, 2026 through Aug. 19, 2027.
  • Shipments went to retailers nationwide, with certain Ajinomoto items also exported to Canada and Mexico.
  • FSIS warns affected products may still be in retailers’ or consumers’ freezers and advises discarding or returning them instead of consuming them.
  • No injuries have been confirmed, and retailers such as Trader Joe’s and Kroger are offering refunds and directing customers to FSIS product lists and hotlines.
