- Between June and August, 47 vehicles worth over $1 million were taken from Avis Budget at Syracuse Hancock International Airport, according to an airport news release.
- Police identified Milton W. Thompson III, 31, of Syracuse, as the suspect and say he is wanted on second-degree grand larceny and first-degree scheme to defraud charges.
- Authorities allege the former rental employee rented the stolen vehicles to customers around the county rather than returning them to the fleet.
- Several vehicles have been recovered and several people have been arrested on unlawful use of a vehicle, though police have not released those individuals' names.
