Airbus Helicopters and Garuda Technologies Sign Contract for Up to 18 Flexrotor UAS

Garuda will offer the long-endurance aircraft on dry or wet leases for civil and parapublic customers.

Overview

  • The agreement adds the Flexrotor to Garuda’s global leasing portfolio for missions such as infrastructure inspection, law enforcement, search, wildfire monitoring and disaster relief.
  • No delivery schedule or end-customer deployments were disclosed in the announcements.
  • The Flexrotor weighs about 25 kg, flies typically 12–14 hours, carries modular electro‑optical and other sensors, and can autonomously launch and recover in a 3.7 by 3.7 meter area on land or at sea.
  • Garuda Technologies Inc. operates as a Delaware-based subsidiary of India’s Garuda Aerospace Limited and is expanding into the North American market.
  • Garuda cites more than 5,000 drones produced, over 1 million flight hours and roughly 30% share in India’s agri-drone segment, while Airbus reports strong Flexrotor interest across civil and military uses.
