Air India to Restart DelhiShanghai Nonstop Flights on Feb. 1, 2026

The restart follows IndiaChina agreements that reopened direct air links after a five-year pause.

Overview

  • Air India returns to mainland China after nearly six years with four weekly DelhiShanghai services operated by Boeing 787-8s featuring 18 business flat beds and 238 economy seats.
  • Published timings list AI352 departing Delhi at 12:00 on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays to reach Shanghai at 20:20, with AI351 leaving Shanghai at 22:00 to arrive in Delhi at 03:15 the next day.
  • Tickets are being progressively opened across Air India’s website, app, airport ticket offices, contact centres and global travel agents.
  • The airline intends to add a MumbaiShanghai nonstop in 2026, subject to regulatory approvals.
  • The move builds on the restoration of direct IndiaChina flights in October, with IndiGo flying Kolkata/DelhiGuangzhou and China Eastern operating DelhiShanghai; Shanghai becomes the Air India group’s 48th international destination.
