Air India JFK–Mumbai Flight Diverts to Medina After Cargo Fire Alert, Lands Safely

Air India said flight AI116 from New York to Mumbai diverted to Medina on March 19 after an aft cargo fire indication.
The Boeing 777 made a priority landing at Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport, according to the airline.
The aircraft landed safely without incident, the carrier said in a statement carried by PTI.
After ground checks, the indication was found to be false and the jet was cleared for operations.
An official said the flight subsequently departed Medina to resume its journey to Mumbai the same day.
