Air India Express to Run First Non‑Stop Guwahati Flights to Dubai and Abu Dhabi

The carrier says the weekly August services will cut travel time for people from Northeast India by linking Guwahati directly to major Gulf diaspora and business hubs.

Overview

  • Air India Express announced on Thursday, June 25 that it has published schedules and opened bookings for two new weekly international routes from Guwahati starting in August.
  • The GuwahatiDubai service will begin on August 4 and operate every Tuesday with departures from Guwahati at 12:25 pm and returns arriving at 12:25 am the next day; the GuwahatiAbu Dhabi service will begin on August 7 and operate every Friday with departures from Guwahati at 11:30 am and returns arriving at 11:30 pm.
  • The airline said these are its first international flights from Guwahati and the first non‑stop links between Northeast India and West Asia, each scheduled as a once‑weekly service.
  • Air India Express already runs about 120 weekly flights from Guwahati and more than 290 weekly flights from four Northeastern stations, and the new routes are presented as part of a broader expansion of point‑to‑point connectivity.
  • The carrier expects the direct Gulf links to save time for travellers who previously routed through metro hubs, to serve visiting friends and relatives and business traffic in the UAE, and to promote regional identity through its 'Tales of India' aircraft motifs.
