Aidoc Raises $150 Million to Scale FDA-Cleared Imaging AI Platform

The growth round signals a push to move hospital imaging AI from triage to auto-drafted reports.

Overview

  • Aidoc raised $150 million in a Series E led by Growth Equity at Goldman Sachs Alternatives with General Catalyst, SoftBank Vision Fund 2 and NVentures participating, bringing reported total funding to more than $520 million.
  • The company says the money will expand its aiOS software platform and its CARE foundation model and will add automated draft imaging reports within two years.
  • CARE has FDA clearance as a CT triage tool for 11 conditions, and Aidoc lists 17 FDA-cleared algorithms across its portfolio.
  • The aiOS platform, which plugs into hospital imaging systems to run and manage AI tools, is reported by the company to be live at nearly 2,000 sites and to have reviewed over 110 million cases.
  • Axios reports the company is considering an IPO as it competes with specialized rivals like Viz.ai, Rad AI and Subtle Medical and with large incumbents such as Nuance under Microsoft.
