Aide Arrested as Lucknow Police Allege Wife Planted Beef to Frame Husband

Police say the plan sought a divorce using OTP verification, a burner SIM, fake IDs.

Overview

  • On 14 January, Kakori police stopped an online porter vehicle and recovered about 12 kg of suspected beef booked in the husband’s name, shifting the probe after CCTV showed he was in the bathroom when the OTP was used.
  • Investigators say the wife coordinated with Amaan from Bhopal, who has been arrested, while the woman named in the case remains untraceable with efforts under way to apprehend her.
  • Police now view a September seizure of nearly 20 kg from the husband’s parked SUV in Hazratganj as a likely earlier attempt to plant evidence and frame him.
  • Officers allege the plot used the husband’s documents to book transport, a SIM obtained with a fake identity, meat ferried from Bhopal in a cardboard box, and a tip to Bajrang Dal under the alias Rahul to trigger interception.
  • A lawyer’s complaint over an attempted detention of the woman at the Lucknow High Court led to an FIR and the suspension of three police personnel, with the DCP saying both probes are continuing.
