Overview
- Ahmed Said, 31, of Lena Gardens, has been charged with murder and appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.
- Victim Berkan Demir, 18, collapsed with a neck wound at a Lena Gardens home on Sunday at about 6pm and died at the scene.
- A post-mortem on Tuesday found he died from sharp force trauma to the left side of the neck.
- Police say the two men knew each other but were not related, and Said had earlier been treated for stab wounds before discharge into custody.
- The Met’s Specialist Crime Command is leading an ongoing inquiry with a crime scene in place, increased patrols, door-to-door checks, forensic searches, and appeals for CCTV or doorbell footage.
