- On Wednesday the band revealed Soft Control, their 10th studio album, and released the lead single “Jungle Roux.”
- Soft Control is due August 21 on Royal Cream/BMG and follows the band’s 2022 album How Do You Burn?.
- The group recorded 22 songs across four studios in Joshua Tree, New Orleans, East Hollywood and Cincinnati before trimming the set to a concise 10-track sequence.
- Guest contributors include longtime collaborator Christopher Thorn plus Patrick Keeler, Petra Haden and Bo Koster, and the band drew the album title from a David Bowie quote about aging.
- The Afghan Whigs will tour Europe and North America this fall with Ed Harcourt supporting the U.K./European dates and Night Moves on the North American run, and general tickets go on sale June 5.
