Overview
- Sugar Land police responded to a welfare call at a gas station on Oct. 26 and found Peterson asleep in the driver’s seat of a running SUV near a pump, according to court records.
- A probable cause affidavit cites bloodshot eyes, slurred speech and the odor of alcohol; Peterson said he was leaving a poker game, admitted two to three vodka shots and rated his intoxication a two out of ten.
- Field sobriety tests indicated impairment, officers arrested him on suspicion of driving while intoxicated and unlawful carrying of a weapon, and a Glock 41 was recovered from the glove box.
- Peterson refused breath and blood samples at the jail, a warrant was obtained, and his blood was collected with laboratory results still pending.
