AEW Sues TrillerTV Over Nearly $5 Million in Unpaid PPV and Subscription Revenue

The filing signals AEW’s break from TrillerTV in favor of Prime Video plus its new MyAEW platform.

Overview

  • AEW filed the case in Florida state court in April, alleging TrillerTV and Triller Group failed to pay proceeds from AEW pay-per-views and the AEW Plus subscription.
  • The complaint says Triller used money generated by AEW to fund other projects, including a social media venture that never launched.
  • AEW attached an April demand letter seeking $4,988,989.13 with interest accruing at 2% per month under the contract.
  • Contract terms disclosed in the suit show AEW was due 75% of domestic PPV net revenue, 65% of international PPV net revenue, and 60% of AEW Plus net revenue.
  • The dispute comes as Flipps Media, which runs TrillerTV, tells a Delaware court it was abandoned and is insolvent, while TrillerTV continues to carry GCW events through TrillerTV+.
