Overview
- Aemet has yellow alerts in Almería, Granada and Jaén for locally heavy, thundery showers with possible hail and very strong gusts, with around 15 mm of rain expected in warned areas.
- Across Spain, alerts extend to multiple regions, including orange-level warnings in parts of Valencia and Alicante for heavier rain and storms.
- Showers and thunderstorms are forecast over wide areas of the Balearic Islands and the northern and eastern thirds of the peninsula, with a risk of very heavy accumulations around Cabo de la Nao.
- Aemet says a new Atlantic storm will arrive from Friday, bringing more widespread rain into the weekend and triggering a temperature drop of roughly 4–6°C in Andalucía, according to regional delegate Juan de Dios del Pino.
- In Andalucía on Friday, forecasters expect light rain in the eastern third with no regional warnings at that stage, and this unsettled spell follows Spain’s warmest April on record at 15.1°C, with a reported chance of dust-mixed “muddy rain” in some central and eastern areas.
