- Instamart’s analysis of orders across more than 130 Indian cities found adrak chai remains the most-ordered tea and that the top five varieties are adrak chai, plain black tea, elaichi tea, green tea and masala chai.
- Ready-to-drink (RTD) tea was the fastest-growing format on the platform, rising 109 percent year on year as shoppers choose grab-and-go chilled options.
- Peach-flavoured tea recorded the steepest flavour growth at roughly 62 times year on year, with other fast-rising choices including blue pea tea, kombucha, tulsi and green tea.
- Bengaluru led overall tea demand while Mumbai and Hyderabad followed, and some of the strongest growth for new formats came from smaller cities such as Bhubaneswar, Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi, with tea shopping peaking on Sundays.
- The findings are indexed relative figures from Instamart orders rather than national sales totals, which suggests quick-commerce is widening consumer choice and may push brands and retailers to expand chilled, wellness and fruit-flavoured tea lines.
