ADNOC Creates ADGM‑Based Global LNG Marketing and Trading Platform

The move aims to boost commercial flexibility, expand shipping options, raise Abu Dhabi’s standing as a global LNG trading hub.

Overview

  • The ADGM‑based platform, which launched Monday, merges LNG marketing from ADNOC Gas and XRG with ADNOC Trading’s global trading and chartering functions into a single commercial hub.
  • ADNOC set a target of 47 million tonnes per annum of combined marketable LNG by 2035 to scale its role among the world’s leading LNG marketers and traders.
  • Rashid Al Mazrouei has been appointed Chief Marketing & Origination Officer (LNG) to centralize long‑term marketing for ADNOC Gas and XRG equity volumes while working alongside ADNOC Trading.
  • The company said existing commercial arrangements for ADNOC Gas customers will not change and that ADNOC Trading will continue to act as the trading counterparty, while the platform seeks to optimise sales and shipping optionality.
  • ADNOC is leaning on projects such as Ruwais LNG, XRG’s international gas assets and an expanded owned fleet of about 20 LNG vessels to underpin supply growth and support broader customer access to its portfolio.
