Overview
- The ADNOC Logistics & Services vessel Barakah, which was struck May 4, remains at anchor off Oman and released a small amount of bunker fuel.
- Copernicus Sentinel images on May 7 and 9 showed a white trail behind the Barakah consistent with oil, and later satellite passes no longer showed the slick.
- ADNOC did not disclose the volume of fuel that leaked, and Oman's Maritime Security Centre has not responded to requests for comment.
- The company said no crew were injured in the drone strike and the tanker was not carrying cargo at the time.
- Tehran’s effective closure of the Strait of Hormuz has disrupted traffic through the key energy corridor, leaving hundreds of ships stuck in the Gulf.
