Overview
- The campaign, which was organised on June 24, collected 52,306 units across 754 locations in 21 states, five Union Territories and four international sites, the foundation announced on June 25.
- The drive worked with over 764 blood banks, including Red Cross centres, government hospitals and trust-run facilities, and mobilised more than 6,000 volunteers from across the Adani Group and local communities.
- The foundation estimates the collected blood equals roughly 23,538 litres and will provide components such as packed red cells, platelets, plasma and fresh frozen plasma that it says could benefit about 156,918 patients.
- Adani Foundation chairperson Dr Priti Adani posted public thanks for participants and framed the campaign as an expression of Gautam Adani’s ‘Seva Hi Sadhana Hai’ philosophy, with the Adani Healthcare team steering operations.
- What began in 2011 with about 1,300 units has grown into one of India’s largest annual voluntary blood drives, a trend that the foundation says boosts local blood reserves for emergency surgeries, cancer care and maternal services.
