Overview
- The partnership was formally launched on June 3 in Kanpur and commits three years of support to treat and follow up more than 10,000 children across five states.
- The programme will work with the National Health Mission to support 67 specialised clubfoot clinics in 61 districts of Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Himachal Pradesh.
- Planned capacity building includes training 51 healthcare professionals and sensitising over 30,000 frontline health workers to improve early diagnosis and timely referral of newborns with clubfoot.
- Clubfoot affects roughly one in every 800 newborns and is highly treatable with the non‑surgical Ponseti method if detected early; India sees an estimated 33,000 clubfoot births a year with about 12,000 in the five targeted states.
- The Anushkaa Foundation brings experience from programmes in 165 districts that have reached more than 26,000 children and the Adani Foundation will channel funding and public‑system integration to scale services and long‑term rehabilitation.
