Overview
- The foundation-laying in Guna on Sunday confirmed a ₹1,060 crore investment for an Ambuja (Adani) cement grinding unit.
- The plant will be built in two phases with total capacity of 4 million tonnes a year, with Phase One targeted for commissioning by 2028.
- Officials said the site is at Mawan village about 10 km from Guna town, and the project is expected to create roughly 1,500 direct and indirect jobs.
- Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia attended the ceremony, as company leaders tied the plan to PM Gati-Shakti’s focus on better logistics and faster clearances.
- Adani executives linked the unit to a broader ₹1.1 lakh crore pledge in the state, projecting more than ₹6,000 crore in lifetime state revenue and knock-on growth for transport, suppliers, and small firms, with future projects also flagged in energy and cement.
