Overview
- Gledhill, 46, was arrested at his Lompoc home on Aug. 3 and has been booked on 24 felony counts that include child molestation, rape, forcible sexual assault, contacting a minor with intent to commit a sexual offense, and possession of child sexual abuse material.
- The probe began in November 2021 after a 17-year-old reported inappropriate conduct that allegedly occurred when she was 15, and detectives subsequently identified nine alleged survivors who were minors at the time.
- Investigators executed a search warrant at Gledhill’s residence in February 2022 and seized thousands of digital files that have undergone an extensive forensic review and helped expand the charges.
- Reports differ on his bail amount, with outlets citing both $500,000 and $2 million, and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for Sept. 9 in the Santa Barbara County Superior Court Lompoc division.
- Authorities say Gledhill often used professional names such as Shane Ryan or Shane Ryan-Reid to place online casting calls and investigators warn the alleged conduct could span roughly 25 years and reach beyond the Central Coast, so they are urging any additional victims or witnesses to contact the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office.
