Achille Lauro Launches Fondazione Madre to Deliver Concrete Support for At-Risk Youth

Lauro aims to leverage Sanremo exposure to mobilize artists, channeling new support for vulnerable youths.

Overview

  • The artist presented the nonprofit on February 17 at Milan’s Biblioteca Braidense, introducing partner Andrea Marchiori and naming Lorella Marcantoni as director general.
  • A technical-scientific committee was announced with third-sector figures Clementina Cordero di Montezemolo, Arnoldo Mosca Mondadori and Giuliana Baldassarre.
  • The first residential project, Casa Ragazzi Madre in Zagarolo near Rome, will host 11–21-year-olds and is planned for 25 beds under the coordination of Don Giovanni Carpentieri through a designated social entity.
  • Drawing on five years of visits to hospitals and juvenile institutions, the foundation will launch Ali tra le corsie for workshops and activities, with initial rollouts expected in Milan pediatric wards.
  • Lauro says he will involve fellow artists, including from rap, in musical projects and donations, and as Sanremo 2026 co-host on February 25 he hopes for a short slot to present the initiative.
