Acer Debuts Iconia Duo Tablets in 3:2 with Companion AR and AI Glasses
The shift to 3:2 screens aims to make Android tablets more productive by pairing new tablets with wearable display and Google Gemini–powered AI glasses.
Overview
- Acer announced the Iconia Duo family of three Android 16 tablets that adopt a 3:2 aspect ratio to favor document, web and creative workflows over the traditional 16:9 video format.
- The flagship Iconia Duo S14 features a 14.2-inch 2.8K OLED panel at 120 Hz, a MediaTek Dimensity 8300 processor, DisplayPort in/out, and a thin 6.2 mm chassis weighing 0.73 kg.
- The Iconia Duo S12 uses a 12.2-inch 2.8K OLED with nano-texture glass for reduced glare and the Iconia Duo D12 offers a 2400×1600 90 Hz LCD as the value model; Acer confirmed North American prices and staggered rollouts for each model.
- All three tablets run Android 16, support an optional Active Stylus, detachable keyboards and magnetic kickstands, include microSD slots up to 1 TB, and target roughly 10 hours of battery life to enable laptop-like workflows.
- Acer also unveiled two glasses: the wired AR Vision GR0 that simulates a large dual-micro OLED display and the wireless 46 g GI0 that uses Google Gemini for real-time translation and AI captions, with both products priced and scheduled for regional rollouts later in 2026.
