Accenture to Buy Industries eXcellence Group to Deepen Siemens Industrial Tech Push

The deal is meant to scale AI-driven industrial software by folding IndX into Accenture’s Siemens-focused unit and opening new Centers of Excellence.

Overview

  • Accenture has agreed to acquire Industries eXcellence Group (IndX), a Siemens Digital Industries partner that builds digital-thread tools linking product design, manufacturing and operations.
  • IndX brings more than 650 specialists and expertise in product lifecycle management, digital twins, SCADA, industrial edge and cloud integration across offices in Italy, the U.S., India, Germany and Mexico.
  • Accenture said IndX will be integrated into its Accenture Siemens Business Group and that it plans to establish two Siemens Centers of Excellence in Italy and India focused on industrial software, digital manufacturing and supply-chain tools.
  • Financial terms were not disclosed and the transaction remains subject to customary closing conditions, with Accenture noting any IndX assets outside the Siemens scope will join other Accenture units.
  • Siemens leadership publicly welcomed the move and analysts offered mixed reactions on Accenture’s near-term stock outlook, with some raising targets and others cutting them, highlighting debate over IT spending and geopolitical risks.
