ACB Traps Snare Andhra Revenue Officials in Gudluru and Sullurpeta Bribery Stings
The arrests follow complaint-led traps targeting alleged payoffs in revenue and land-record work.
Overview
- On February 28, ACB arrested Gudluru VRO Indla Chalama Reddy after he allegedly accepted ₹20,000 to process a solvency certificate for release of a seized JCB, following a complaint by contractor-farmer Ramala Madhava Reddy.
- ACB officials apprehended the Gudluru VRO near the local bus stand and registered a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act, with searches under way at his residence and office.
- In Sullurpeta, ACB arrested RDO office staff Sk. Siraj and Chennubona Hemanth Satwik, along with private individual Banala Venkata Subbaiah, for allegedly taking ₹40,000 to correct land records wrongly shown as poramboke, based on a complaint by Sadhana Poorna Chandra.
- The Sullurpeta trap was executed near the APSRTC bus stand and searches are in progress at the accused residences and the RDO office, with the trio to be produced before the ACB special court in Nellore.
- In a separate Rajahmundry-range probe, ACB conducted February 28 searches on properties of Kadiyam SRO E. Lakshmi and staff, seizing gold, silver and other valuables in a case registered January 29, with the investigation continuing.
