Overview
- The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau said a surprise check at the Shamshabad Tahsildar office uncovered unaccounted cash and serious lapses in how the office was run.
- Officials reported seizing ₹60,000 from Tahsildar K. Ravinder Dutt’s car, ₹29,650 from Revenue Inspector G. Krishna, and ₹10,000 from licensed surveyor S. Prudhviraj.
- The bureau said the office kept no personal cash register and left 68 Mee Seva requests past deadline, slowing routine services such as certificates that residents rely on.
- Investigators alleged the Tahsildar issued orders beyond his remit, at times invoking Land Reforms Tribunal powers, with some actions said to favor private parties and harm government interests.
- The ACB also flagged deviations in land files for Shamshabad, Tondpally and Sathamrai, a red flag because such orders shape who holds clear title and how property claims get settled.
