Early reports pointed to a 2030 term before the club clarified the 2031 end date.
His previous deal ran to 2027, so the extension prevents him from entering the final year next season.
The Belgian has started all 15 league matches this season under Massimiliano Allegri, mainly at right wing-back.
Since arriving in January 2020, he has logged 159 appearances with 12 goals and featured in the 2021/22 title run.
