Overview
- The single-vehicle crash was reported at about 8.04pm on Monday, January 27, on the A489 at Caersws near Newtown.
- The heavy goods vehicle struck a tree, overturned and caught fire, prompting a multi-agency response including Dyfed-Powys Police and the Ambulance Service.
- Fire crews from Newtown, Llandrindod Wells and Llanfyllin used four breathing apparatus sets, two hose reel jets and thermal imaging cameras to extinguish the fire.
- Crews left the scene at 10.27pm, and one casualty was taken to hospital by road ambulance.
- The road was closed for recovery and debris clearance for several hours and reopened earlier today.
