- TMZ released a Dec. 12 recording of a 911 call in which a man identifying himself as Potthast’s son reported finding him face down in a bathtub bleeding from the chest.
- The caller told the dispatcher he did not know what happened and said his father did not appear alive when asked if he was awake.
- The dispatcher instructed the caller to try to turn Potthast onto his side, and the caller said his father was lying face down in the tub.
- Potthast’s death was announced in November by his daughter Elizabeth Castravet, who said the family was devastated, and another daughter, Rebekah Lichtwerch, posted a separate tribute.
- Potthast, 64, had documented recent health issues including an eight-hour hernia and collapsed-stomach surgery, and his son-in-law Andrei Castravet rejected cancer claims as rumors.
