8BitDo Unveils Arcade Controller Pro With Built-In Screen

On-device customization plus low-profile hot-swappable Kailh co-developed switches aim to speed adjustments for competitive fighting-game players.

Overview

  • 8BitDo announced the Arcade Controller Pro on Wednesday as an upgraded leverless all-button fight pad built for competitive players.
  • A 1.47-inch monochrome display lets users remap buttons, change SOCD modes, check battery level, and adjust lighting without using the companion Ultimate Software V2 app.
  • The Pro adds a left-side programmable P5 input and repositioned P4, includes a magnetic wrist rest and hidden accessory storage, and ships with five lock caps to prevent accidental presses.
  • Each button uses an 8BitDo Core Green low-profile linear mechanical switch co-developed with Kailh that is hot-swappable and stores spare switches inside the unit.
  • 8BitDo will show the controller at EVO 2026 but has not confirmed price or wide release timing; at least one outlet reports preorders may begin in September and the device is listed as compatible only with Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and Windows PCs.
