78-Year-Old Charged After Driver Says He Pointed Loaded Gun at Pregnant Motorist

Police used video from the victim to trace the pickup to the suspect’s home, where officers recovered a loaded handgun with a round chambered.

Police say a yellow Chevrolet pickup pulled alongside a motorist on St. Lucie West Boulevard and the driver pointed a handgun at her as she lowered her window.
The victim, who was late in her pregnancy, recorded video of the truck leaving the scene and reported the incident to authorities.
Officers traced the truck by its license plate, identified 78-year-old Robert Kniceley, went to his Port St. Lucie home and took him into custody after he cooperated.
Investigators recovered a loaded Smith & Wesson .22-caliber handgun from the home and said the firearm had a round chambered; Kniceley was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and taken to the county jail.
The case rests on the victim’s video and the weapon recovery, and police have not released details about motive, prior record, bail or upcoming court dates.
