Overview
- On February 23, officials reported nearly 20,000 institutions synchronized performances by about 51 lakh students with participation from roughly 1.5 lakh teachers and staff.
- In Mumbai, 7,14,626 students from 2,321 BMC and affiliated schools sang in two sessions during school assemblies.
- The programme was organised by the Maharashtra Minority Development Department and the State Level Samagam Committee to mark the 350th martyrdom anniversary of the Sikh Guru.
- Organisers said the turnout would be submitted to Best of India Records for documentation as a record-setting event, with district information offices streaming the performances.
- The main Shahidi Samagam is scheduled for February 28 and March 1 at Owe Ground, Sector 29, Kharghar, Navi Mumbai, following related competitions, health camps and an optional exam on the Guru’s life.
