$500,000 Bond Set as 21-Year-Old Charged With Murder in Jeffersontown Apartment Shooting

A recovered revolver plus witness accounts challenge his claim of an accidental shot.

Overview

  • The victim, identified as Noraa Deglow, was found with a shoulder gunshot wound in a Fir Trail apartment Tuesday around 7:30 p.m., and she died during emergency surgery hours later.
  • Police arrested Adam Thomas, 21, at the scene and said they found a revolver with one spent round in his jacket pocket.
  • Thomas told officers he had been watching TV, picked up the gun, tossed it, and the weapon fired.
  • Witnesses in the apartment told police he often pointed the gun at people in a playful way, and one said he blurted that it had misfired right after the shot.
  • At Wednesday’s arraignment, the judge entered a not guilty plea, set $500,000 cash bond, barred contact with the victim’s family, prohibited gun possession, and set a court date for next Thursday.
