Overview
- A Chevrolet Express van left the roadway on westbound I-494 near Pieper Road and rolled multiple times in a single-vehicle crash, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
- Five-year-old Camila Flores of Salem, Oregon, was pronounced dead at the scene and was reported by authorities to have been unrestrained at the time of the crash.
- The 20-year-old driver from Salem suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was reported to have been wearing a seat belt.
- Two other passengers, a 13-year-old boy and a 35-year-old woman from Salem, were in the van and the State Patrol has not released their conditions.
- Traffic was diverted to Highway 62 and westbound I-494 reopened in the afternoon as investigators continue to probe the cause and the State Patrol says alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
