4-Year-Old Found in Waterville Home and Suspect Arrested on Kidnapping Charges

Overview

• Fairfield police say they received a report that a 4-year-old was missing around 2:00 a.m. Saturday and an initial search of the Main Street home failed to find the child.
• Officers called in additional units including K-9 teams and the Fire Department, and information developed during the probe led them to a Waterville residence where the child was located and taken to a local hospital as a precaution.
• Thirty-seven-year-old Brandon Phair of Waterville was arrested at the scene, transported to Somerset County Jail and charged with kidnapping (Class B) and criminal restraint (Class C).
• Bail for Phair was set at $500,000 cash and police said he was known to a resident of the Fairfield home but is not related to the child.
