Overview
- Nottinghamshire Police were called to Langar Airfield at 12.13pm on Sunday following reports of a skydiving incident and emergency teams attended the site.
- A 22-year-old woman was found in a neighbouring field and was pronounced dead at the scene, with police confirming no other injuries.
- Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue, ambulance services and an air ambulance were deployed and investigators concentrated activity on a field adjacent to the airfield.
- Detective Inspector Rachel Mayfield said officers are working with partner agencies, the woman’s next of kin have been informed and specially trained officers are supporting the family.
- Police have appealed for witnesses or information about the incident to be reported to 101, quoting incident 306 of 5 July, and a coroner’s file will be compiled as inquiries continue.
