Overview
- The three-vehicle collision, which occurred Wednesday about 10km south of Walcha on Thunderbolts Way, left the 22-year-old cattle-truck driver dead at the scene after a B-double rolled and blocked both lanes.
- Police set up a crime scene with the NSW Crash Investigation Unit assisting, and they asked anyone with relevant dashcam or phone video to contact Tamworth Police or Crime Stoppers.
- The other truck driver, a 53-year-old man, suffered serious head injuries and was taken to John Hunter Hospital for treatment and mandatory testing.
- Police said about 35 cattle died in the crash, with some euthanised due to their injuries.
