- A 12:07 a.m. 911 call from Aug. 12 included voices saying, "We should not have killed her," and callers referencing blood and a safe, according to a criminal complaint and dispatcher recording.
- First responders found 70-year-old Sherri Mitko inside her Pulaski County home with multiple gunshot wounds and recovered two cell phones at the scene.
- Police arrested two teenagers on Aug. 16 and later took 20-year-old McCoy Chaney into custody, and local reporting on Aug. 20 says a fourth person has been arrested, bringing the total charged to Chaney and three juveniles.
