17 Charged After Randolph Street Takeover Caught on Dashcam

Investigators built the case using dashcam video, nearby surveillance, Instagram messages.

Overview

  • Several defendants appeared in Quincy District Court on Wednesday after police announced charges against 17 people.
  • Police say about 100 people blocked North Main and Oak streets in October 2025 as drivers did donuts and drifting while a crowd swarmed a cruiser and set off fireworks on and near it.
  • Detectives reviewed cruiser footage, business cameras, and social media posts, and they obtained Instagram data that showed organizers sharing locations and urging spectators to obstruct police.
  • The charges include conspiracy, interfering with a police officer, disorderly conduct, negligent operation, and license plate violations, and the 17 defendants come from Massachusetts and five other states with nine arrest warrants issued and the rest summonsed.
  • Randolph police say the regional probe remains active and they believe some participants moved between multiple takeovers that night, including a Boston scene where a police cruiser was set on fire.
