1666: Amsterdam to Enter PC Early Access on August 25

A paid Early Access release will deliver the first campaign segment on a roughly year-long update plan, excluding AI-generated assets from both Early Access and the final product.

Overview

  • Panache Digital Games announced Monday that 1666: Amsterdam will launch into PC Early Access on August 25, 2026, on Steam and the Epic Games Store.
  • The studio says the initial Early Access build contains the “first piece” of the campaign, reported at roughly 10–15 hours of play, and expects to expand the game with several major updates over about a year.
  • Panache plans to sell the Early Access build at about $29.99 on PC and has said console versions will arrive later.
  • Press previews praised the game's detailed 17th‑century Amsterdam, dual‑protagonist design and investigation systems but flagged rough voice work, performance problems and bugs in the playable prologue and preview builds.
  • Panache and creative director Patrice Désilets apologised for earlier use of generative AI in some prologue portraits and marketing, pledged no AI-generated assets will appear in Early Access or the final release, and said the studio still uses AI tools only in limited, declining ways during development.
