16-Year-Old Hospitalised After Daytime Machete Attack in Dudley

Recovered CCTV and mobile phone footage have prompted a police manhunt with a public web portal for witness tips.

  • A 16-year-old boy was attacked on Duncan Edwards Close in Dudley just before 2pm on Saturday 23 May and was seriously injured in a broad daylight machete assault.
  • The teenager suffered serious wounds to his chest and face, underwent surgery at hospital and remains in a serious but stable condition.
  • West Midlands Police say two young men on a moped approached the victim, carried out the attack and fled, and detectives have launched a manhunt for the suspects.
