Overview
- Nisha Sasikumar reached the 8,848.86-metre summit of Mount Everest on Monday, May 25, and was reported to be descending safely after the climb.
- At 16 years and 80 days old she is being reported as the youngest woman to summit Everest using Nepal’s South Col route, a standard high-altitude path that most climbers take from the Nepal side.
- Her final push was supported by Sherpa guides Tenji Sherpa, Phura Dorji Sherpa and Phursang Sherpa, whose guiding and logistics helped manage route hazards and oxygen use during the summit bid.
