14-Year-Old Charged in Killing of Philadelphia Pizza Delivery Driver

Investigators say surveillance video, ballistic evidence and a traced phone number tied the suspect to the June 5 slaying.

Overview

  • Police found 28-year-old delivery driver Anshul Kuncha unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the back of the head on June 5 and he was pronounced dead at a hospital shortly after.
  • Authorities arrested 14-year-old Sincere Camps on July 10 and charged him as an adult with murder, robbery and weapons offenses; he is being held without bail and is scheduled to appear in court on July 21.
  • Investigators cite surveillance that shows the driver being followed to a vacant apartment, ballistic evidence found near where he was located, and identification of the phone number used to place the order.
  • Police recovered three pizza boxes inside the vacant property that appeared unopened, which supports the account that the delivery was a false order, but officials have not yet said who placed the order or how the driver accessed the unit.
  • Kuncha worked for Pete's Pizza and also held a data role after earning a degree from Drexel; police offered a $20,000 reward for tips and the case has renewed attention on risks faced by delivery workers.
