13-Year-Old Taken to Hospital After E-Scooter Crash in Anfield

Merseyside Police's Matrix Serious Collision Investigation Unit is leading inquiries and has asked the public to submit CCTV or dashcam footage while a cordon remains in place.

Overview

  • The collision, which happened at around 1.35pm on Sunday 14 June, involved an electric scooter striking a stationary car on Oakfield Road in Anfield.
  • A 13-year-old boy who was riding the scooter was taken by ambulance to hospital for assessment of serious injuries.
  • Officers from Merseyside Police and the Matrix SCIU are carrying out house-to-house enquiries and checking CCTV and dashcam footage to establish the full circumstances of the crash.
  • Road closures between Oakfield Road/Kemp Avenue and Oakfield Road/St Domingo Vale remain in force and Merseytravel has confirmed diversions for Arriva North West routes 26 and 27 via Breck Road and St Domingo Road with no timescale for reopening.
  • Police have asked anyone with information or footage to contact the Matrix SCIU on (0151) 777 5747 or email SCIU@merseyside.police.uk, quoting incident reference 26000473287, and the ongoing inquiry could extend local disruption and delay official updates on the boy's condition.
